Validation from the scientific community is a significant milestone for any natural farming initiative. Recently, we had the honor of hosting a senior scientist from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) – Kurbur at Prashanth Organics. The primary objective of this visit was to monitor and evaluate our carrot crop, which is being cultivated strictly using natural farming protocols.
The Inspection Process During the field visit, the scientist conducted a thorough assessment of the crop’s health, focusing on several key indicators of natural farming success:
-
Root Development: Examining the length, girth, and color of the carrots to ensure high nutrient density.
-
Soil Texture: Observing the Brix level and microbial activity within the soil beds.
-
Pest Resistance: Evaluating how our natural decoctions (like Jeevamrutha) have shielded the crop without the need for synthetic pesticides.
Expert Observations
“Seeing the uniformity and vigor of the carrot crop here at Prashanth Organics confirms that natural farming, when done with scientific precision, can match and even exceed the quality of conventional farming.” — Observation from the KVK Visit.
Why This Matters This visit isn’t just about one crop; it’s about proving that sustainable agriculture is a viable, scalable solution for the future. Carrots are notoriously sensitive to soil conditions, and achieving a high-quality yield naturally is a testament to the hard work put into soil preparation over the last few years.
Looking Ahead We are grateful for the guidance provided by the Kurbur KVK team. Their insights help us refine our “Lab-to-Land” approach, ensuring that every vegetable leaving our farm is not only organic but backed by agricultural best practices.
